A few weeks ago now, olome launched its OLOME SERIES webinar series with its first episode: THE KICK-OFF.

Webinar: Review of the kick-off

During this live event, our founders, drawing on their experience as industrialists and the numerous SMEs and ETIs met since the launch of olome, debated the needs, obstacles and best practices in the deployment of digital solutions.

What are the real digital needs for French industrial SMEs and ETIs?

We met many industrialists in 2021, who despite the health crisis have good results. Most of these companies already have systems in place, an ERP for example...

One can legitimately ask if they need more and if the deployment of new digital solutions is a real priority?

In practice, we quickly realize that as soon as these companies face challenges of growth, quality improvement, productivity, transformation or diversification, the need for digital is indeed there.

"Just yesterday, we saw an SME that posted that they were going to be closed for three days because they were doing inventory"

If the stakes are present, how to explain the low digitization of the industry, what are the obstacles?

The main obstacles observed are infrastructures, "old-fashioned" IT, lack of understanding of digital, or apprehension regarding cost, the obstacles are varied.

Many companies work well, however if they face international competition, if they want to diversify, if they have been taken over by a new leader, we see operational needs emerging that are often difficult to solve without digital.

What means have they found to remedy these obstacles?

The main means used to overcome these obstacles: we were able to talk about things to do from the point of view of infrastructures, the adaptation of ERPs and behavioral changes to encourage.
